10 Clever Ways to Maximize Kitchen Cabinet Space

Are you pushing the upper limits of your custom cabinet allowance/budget and you need to make some cuts? I have an easy cut for you … ditch the custom interior details and buy MUCH less expensive options that serve the same function. Below are 10 clever ways to maximize your kitchen cabinet space (without spending a fortune on custom details).

There is ONE custom cabinet detail I did splurge on (and recommend you do too) … pull-out drawers in my lower cabinets. But don’t worry if you don’t have these … I’ve got you covered with several inexpensive slide-out drawer options below.

10 CLEVER WAYS TO MAXIMIZE KITCHEN CABINET SPACE

Before we get to the products, I want to make something VERY clear.

MAKE SURE you measure the inside of your cabinets (including any pipes or other obstructions) BEFORE you order storage products!

This will save you the headache of returning the products if they don’t fit.

1 | PULL-OUT LID ORGANIZER

This is on my list to order … my cabinet drawers are a hot mess of pots stacked over pots and I just squeeze in the lids wherever I can. I’m sick of pulling out a bazillion pots and lids before I finally get to the exact lid size I’m looking for.

2 | COOKWARE ORGANIZER

Ditto to exactly(ish) what I just said about the lid organizer! Just insert ‘cookware’ where it says ‘lid’.Kitchen Cabinet Storage Solutions Chrome Cookware Organizer

3 | CHROME 2-TIER SLIDING ORGANIZER

This is a genius way to organize under your sink. Obviously, there will be a pipe somewhere in that cabinet, so this allows you to have varying heights for the two shelves to accommodate for the pipe obstruction.

4 | SILVER 2-DRAWER MESH ORGANIZER

Here is another option if your pipe runs right down the middle of the inside your cabinet (mine does). This 2-drawer mesh organizer providers plenty of storage and you can buy one or two, depending on how much space you have under your sink.

Both of these organizers (i.e. numbers 3 and 4) would work great inside a bathroom vanity cabinet as well.

5 | LOWER CABINET ORGANIZATION STARTER KIT

This starter kit has great storage solutions. However, there is one item I would NOT use from this kit … the over-the-door piece.

I say this because: (a) my inset cabinet door wouldn’t close properly with this on it, and (b) I don’t want to see a little hook on the outside of my cabinet. Keep this in mind if you have inset cabinets.

Like I mentioned above, MAKE SURE TO MEASURE the inside of your cabinet before ordering!

6 | ASHWOOD ROLL-OUT CABINET DRAWERS

Pull-out drawers make it SO much easier to get items from the back of your deep lower cabinets! When you pull the drawer out, you have easy access to everything in there. Brilliant!

The Ashwood roll-out cabinet drawers, as well as the next two slide-out options, come in a variety of widths so you can ‘customize’ to the size you need.

I don’t think any of these three products is better than the other; it just comes down to your style preference (i.e. wood vs. chrome vs. hybrid of wood/chrome).

7 | LYNK PROFESSIONAL WOOD + CHROME SLIDE-OUTS

Another great slide-out option.

8 | LYNK CHROME PULL-OUT CABINET DOORS

A third great slide-out option.

9 | EXPANDABLE ACACIA UTENSIL TRAY

I have the acacia utensil and silverware trays in my kitchen drawers. The expandable option is great because you can widen to fit almost any drawer width.

CONCLUSION

Buying cabinets is already expensive enough, so no need to spend a ton of money including custom storage features if you can buy products for a fraction of the price.

Adding some clever cabinet and drawer storage items can help you maximize every square inch of your kitchen cabinets and drawers while keeping everything organized and easy to get to. Yes, please!

SHOP CABINET STORAGE

  1. I liked what you said about how getting into the back of cabinets can be made a lot easier with roll outdoors and the inside should be measured before getting a product for it. My cousin has been looking for a way to get extra storage and more room for food inside her kitchen. Getting some extra cabinets from a professional could be really useful and could help alter the look of the room too.
