When building a home there are lots (LOTS) of design decisions that need to be made … especially when it comes to your kitchen design. This includes your pantry. If you’re anything like me, you want your pantry to be practical (because it’s a very hard-working little ‘room’), but why not make it beautiful too? The 7 gorgeous walk-in pantry designs below will give you some serious inspiration!

7 STUNNING (YET PRACTICAL) WALK-IN PANTRY DESIGNS

First of all, there is SO much to love about all of the pantries in this blog post. They honestly make me want to renovate my own walk-in pantry ASAP!

Along with the photo inspiration, I’ll also share what I love about each pantry and why I chose each one as gorgeous (yet practical) inspiration for your future pantry.

Just an FYI … most of the pantries in this blog post are essentially considered a ‘butler’s pantry’. This just means that they are basically mini-kitchens with countertop space, cabinet storage, and other useful tools (e.g. prep sink, dishwasher, etc.).

OK, let’s get started with my absolute dream pantry …

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE PANTRY DESIGN ABOVE:

  • The huge windows that allow in abundant natural light
  • The adorable floor tile
  • The large sink for extra prep
  • Tons of counter space
  • Abundant cabinet storage
  • Open shelving for easy access to items (Psst … Open shelving is a great way to save money in your pantry because cabinets can be EXPENSIVE!)

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE PANTRY DESIGN ABOVE:

  • It’s a hidden pantry; when the door is shut, it just looks like cabinets and drawers (BTW, this custom pantry door is amazing!)
  • It appears that there is a window in the pantry because it looks like it has abundant natural light
  • A mixture of closed and open storage; the shelves are great to display beautiful dishes
  • Counter space for extra prep room
  • Located near the prep sink, fridge, and microwave

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE PANTRY DESIGN ABOVE:

  • Tons of extra counter space which is great for an extra prep area or to add a coffee station (which is what I will 100% do in my next house … I want a mini barista set-up!)
  • So much extra storage with the ample cabinets as well as the open shelving
  • Although this is a smaller walk-in pantry, Bria really maximized the space
  • The sink is great for extra prep
  • The design aspects … I love this Feather wallpaper and the fun and dainty white light fixtures
  • The window may be small, but it’s still a window and that means natural light!

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE PANTRY DESIGN ABOVE:

  • Plenty of cabinet storage and long open shelving that maximizes the entire space
  • The window is at eye level so you can see out (adds natural light)
  • The crown molding to really finish off the space
  • The textured walls add depth to this tiny ‘room’

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE PANTRY DESIGN ABOVE:

  • A simple pocket door as opposed to a bulky interior door
  • Ample storage via closed cabinetry and open shelving
  • A secondary dishwasher (!!!) and I believe a secondary sink
  • Small appliance storage (e.g. toaster)
  • Beautiful enough to keep the pocket door open for easy access

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE PANTRY DESIGN ABOVE:

  • Although they used only open shelving (which drastically reduces the cost!), Two Hawks Design made this pantry look very custom with the butcher block counters and the attractive open shelving (i.e. it isn’t just inexpensive wire shelving)
  • The wine fridge (heck yes!)
  • Ample extra counter space
  • Tons of storage in the abundant shelving

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE PANTRY DESIGN ABOVE:

  • Although this pantry isn’t huge, it packs a big punch with the adorable lemon wallpaper
  • The open shelving is very simple and appears to be budget-friendly, but still looks great!
  • The natural woven baskets add a textured design and natural elements to this small space
  • The pull-out wire drawers make it easy to get things in the back of the ‘shelf’

FEELING INSPIRED YET?!

You may have noticed some (very obvious) themes as to what I love in a walk-in pantry …  ample storage via closed cabinetry and open shelving, windows for natural light, extra counter prep space, a prep sink in the pantry, and design elements such as wallpaper.

Soooo … basically I love a beautifully designed and well-appointed butler’s pantry. This can get pretty expensive though, so pick and choose what you love from each inspiration pantry above and create your own beautiful and functional design that is in line with YOUR budget!

I designed my own custom home from the ground up, inside and out. A home that is cozy, comfy, laid out perfectly for the way my family lives, and makes us happy every single day. Oh, and did I mention I did this all without blowing the budget?!

Yep, it’s true. I’ve been there, done that, and actually lived through it … and you will too. Pinkie promise!
