There is a new(ish) product on the market that I am obsessed with … mess-free paint samples. These weren’t around when I built my home back in 2013 but I sure wish they were! In this post, I’m going to share my Samplize peel and stick paint samples review.

We’ll cover all things Samplize paint samples … what peel and stick paint samples are, how accurate the sample colors are (including my ‘color accuracy experiment’ results), how to use the samples, how long they take to ship, how much they cost, the pros and cons of peel and stick paint samples, and my honest review of Samplize paint samples.

And just so ya know … this post is sponsored by Samplize. However, they didn’t approach me to review their product. I approached them because I wanted to talk allll about Samplize and spread the word. So … all opinions are mine :).

WHAT ARE PEEL AND STICK PAINT SAMPLES?

Let’s start by talking about what exactly peel and stick paint samples are.

Peel and stick paint samples are exactly what you would think … they’re paint sample decals that adhere to your wall (i.e. basically, they’re large stickers).

Peel and stick paint samples are a no-mess, convenient, and simple way to see how potential paint colors will look in your home. For me, the ‘no mess’ part of sampling paint is worth every penny. Just sayin’!

I want you to think of peel-and-stick paint samples as you would any type of paint sampling.

When you’re trying to figure out a paint color, there’s a process of narrowing down lots of colors before you settle on your top 5 or so colors.

It used to be that we would purchase small amounts of actual paint for our top color options and then paint a square on the wall or paint a piece of drywall to see the color in ‘real life’.

However, now it’s so much easier (and cleaner) to just order peel and stick samples of your top 5-10 color choices so that you can see a larger sample of the color. Let’s be real … you can’t tell much about a color from a little paint swatch.

My personal go-to brand for peel and stick paint samples is a brand called Samplize.

Samplize sells samples of four top paint brands: Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Farrow and Ball, and PPG.

These peel and stick paint samples are made with real paint from the real brands and each sample contains two coats of the paint color.

Samplize paint samples are only $5.95 each and, when I ordered samples, they shipped out less than two hours after I placed the order and they were at my door the next day.

Just to be clear … Samplize does NOT sell actual paint. They sell peel and stick paint samples to help you test various colors in an easy and mess-free way before purchasing paint from a local retailer.

Now let’s talk about how accurate these samples are …

ARE PEEL AND STICK PAINT SAMPLES ACCURATE?

As soon as I discovered Samplize, I wanted to check the product out for myself because I knew these paint samples could be a game changer for my readers and students who are in the midst of designing their dream homes.

I ordered several Samplize peel and stick paint samples to test the color accuracy because I wanted to know for myself how accurate the color on the samples is.

I ordered popular paint colors that I wanted to see in person and I also ordered samples of paint colors that I already have in my home because I wanted to test how closely the sample color matched the actual paint color on my walls.

As you can see in the photos above, the paint sample colors are SPOT ON! They blend almost seamlessly into my wall color. In other words, the paint samples are pretty much an exact match to my wall colors.

You can rest assured that you’ll be getting accurate color samples when you order from Samplize :).

HOW DO YOU USE PEEL AND STICK PAINT SAMPLES?

As you might imagine, peel and stick paint samples work just like any sticker would work. You peel off the backing and adhere the sample to your wall.

Luckily the Samplize samples aren’t super sticky and tacky, so it’s easy to peel them off and maneuver them around if needed.

Samplize is in the process of changing their sample sizes but when I ordered, all samples were a 12” x 12” square which is large enough to get a good idea of how the color will look in your home.

However, when testing colors, I recommend that you order at least two samples of the same color so that you can put those samples together on the wall side by side and create a larger color sample.

CAN YOU REUSE SAMPLIZE PAINT SAMPLES?

You sure can!

Although the Samplize peel and stick paint samples will stay in place for days, they do come off the wall SUPER easily if you want to move them around. Plus, they hold their adhesiveness so you can reuse them in different rooms throughout your house (if needed).

This is GREAT because I always recommend that you view possible paint colors in various rooms and in various lighting (and even on different walls within the same room) before making a decision.

One caveat to my review is that I haven’t reused the Samplize peel and stick samples over the long term. In other words, all of my samples were used and moved within a few days. I didn’t store the used samples for the long term.

So I don’t know how well the samples would stick if you put them back in a drawer after using them and pull them out a year later.

Although, even if the adhesive doesn’t stick great over the long term, you still have a mess free paint sample that you can tape to your wall.

WHAT FINISH ARE SAMPLIZE SAMPLES?

All Samplize peel and stick paint samples contain two coats of eggshell paint directly from the brand.

An eggshell paint sheen is somewhere in the middle of flat paint and glossy paint. It’s the perfect sheen to test out colors (also, it’s my personal favorite sheen for walls in my home).

HOW LONG DOES SAMPLIZE TAKE TO SHIP?

Samplize strives to get orders delivered within 24 hours. Of course, unforeseen events can sometimes get in the way of this but when I ordered my samples, they shipped out within two hours and I had them in hand the following day.

  • Inexpensive!
  • Ships ASAP!
  • Can be reused
  • Can adhere to any interior wall surface
  • You can move them around and use them in different rooms
  • Color is spot on (i.e. 99.9% accurate)

SAMPLIZE PAINT SAMPLE CONS

Honestly, there aren’t any cons to Samplize peel and stick paint samples … other than you do have to purchase them. However, they are a very reasonable price and you would have to purchase an actual paint sample for about the same cost or even higher.

MY SAMPLIZE PEEL AND STICK PAINT SAMPLES REVIEW

I think we can all agree that choosing a paint color is HARD … but Samplize peel and stick paint samples are making testing paint colors MUCH easier (and MUCH cleaner).

Not only are the mess-free paint samples a game changer, but Samplize also has evolved and now offers bundles of popular paint colors (e.g. warm whites bundle) which takes the guesswork out of the equation for you. Umm … yes, please!

Overall, I am extremely happy with the quality, ease of use, price, speed of delivery, and color accuracy of the Samplize paint samples. I will 100% order these again in the future when I have a room in my house to paint :).

I highly recommend Samplize and encourage you to order samples of your favorite paint color options you won’t be disappointed!
