3 Fun Ways to Style an Ivory Upholstered Bed

My decorating philosophy is to anchor a room with neutral furniture and introduce color and personality through accents. The beauty in starting with a neutral base is that you can alter the look and feel of a room without buying a single new piece of furniture! Add a new rug or new bedding and your room is completely transformed!

One of my absolute favorite rooms to decorate is the bedroom! Below are three unique, fun, and feminine ways to style an ivory upholstered bed. I have chosen the Pottery Barn Teen Raleigh Upholstered Bed and Rowan Bedside Tables as my room design base.

Neutral Sophistication

Adding grasscloth wallpaper to a room will always take it from drab to WOW! It is by far my favorite type of wallpaper to use in my home. You can see how I use grasscloth in my home tour.

The velvet texture of the dark moss pillows paired with the organic patterned pillow make a bold statement against the neutral room. The neutral backdrop can be easily changed by simply adding new accent pillows!

I am in love with this textured rug! With a room design this neutral, adding texture is a MUST!

Modern Floral Wallpaper

This floral wallpaper has me just drooling! It is the perfect pattern for an accent wall in a little girls’ room. As a matter of fact, I think I might be ordering this for my own daughter’s room! I’m obsessed with wallpaper in general but especially with this design!

The pattern looks slightly different on this design board because it is HARD to line up wallpaper patterns when creating a replica! Believe me … the print is even more beautiful in its true form!

I love the mix of soft blues and soft pinks in this design. The texture of the feminine faux fur blush pillow and striped indigo pillows complement each other well! The soft blue rug anchors the bed and tables vignette.

‘Tween Dream

Adding millwork to a room makes a huge statement! This simple wall panel molding creates a modern coastal feel in this room fit for a ‘tween princess!

The subtle pops of blush in the feminine faux fur pillows and the patterned rug add a flair of personality to an otherwise white backdrop. The gold accents further add to the sophisticated vibe of this sweet bedroom.

I designed my own custom home from the ground up, inside and out. A home that is cozy, comfy, laid out perfectly for the way my family lives, and makes us happy every single day. Oh, and did I mention I did this all without blowing the budget?!

Yep, it’s true. I’ve been there, done that, and actually lived through it … and you will too. Pinkie promise!
