Are you on the hunt for the perfect neutral paint color for your home? A few months ago I rounded up the 8 popular Sherwin Williams neutral paint colors and now I’m back with 8 popular Benjamin Moore neutral colors for you :).

As you probably know, there are endless colors to choose from and it can be just a *tinch* overwhelming to narrow your options down …. sooooo, I did it for you!

Plus, I’ll share why it is VERY important that you sample your potential color choices in YOUR home before making a final decision.

8 POPULAR BENJAMIN MOORE NEUTRAL PAINT COLORS

Neutrals can include beiges, greys, tans, whites, and other light colors. In addition to the list below, you can find more neutral options in 10 White Colors that Designers Love.

All right, let’s dive in! First up is Swiss Coffee …

SWISS COFFEE 0C-45

Swiss Coffee is part of the Benjamin Moore Off-White Color Collection and is a gorgeous, soft creamy color.

It’s a great color for walls and/or cabinets and pairs beautifully with earthy-colored countertops. This color does have a touch of gray in it but can look fairly bright white if exposed to direct sunlight on your home exterior.

You know it’s a great neutral because Shae McGee of Studio McGee used this throughout her own home (at 75%)!

CLASSIC GRAY OC-23

Although you would think Classic Gray would look gray (based on its name), it actually has a creamy hue that can look quite white when exposed to direct sunlight.

Classic Gray is a great choice for interior walls and cabinets but doesn’t work as well as a ceiling or interior trim color.

In some lighting, Classic Gray can appear more greige, but it typically appears as a soft gray/warm white all in one.

The undertones lean toward a mild purple, but this undertone is very subtle.

Purchase a ‘Classic Gray’ Sample.

REVERE PEWTER HC-172

Revere Pewter is one of the most popular greige colors. It’s a great mixture of both gray and beige (obviously 😉).

It appears as a light gray with warm undertones and goes with just about any style, from traditional to contemporary. You can use Revere Pewter in any room in your home … and it will, most likely, look great!

Purchase a ‘Revere Pewter’ Sample.

BALBOA MIST OC-27

Balboa Mist is part of the Benjamin Moore Off-White Collection, but it is considered a mid-tone greige. It appears more on the warm gray side, but the lighting in your room will play a factor in what tones come out.

Like all grays, Balboa Mist definitely has an undertone … and it favors purple. So be sure to look at color samples throughout your home and in various lighting before ordering several gallons of Balboa Mist.

GRAY OWL OC-52

Gray Owl is another very popular greige paint color … almost as popular as Revere Pewter! Although it’s considered a greige, it leans more toward a gray and has undertones of both green and blue, which leads to more of a cool look.

EDGECOMB GRAY HC-173

Edgecomb Gray is another ‘go-to’ Benjamin Moore neutral color. It’s a timeless greige that appears as a warm and airy light gray color and works well in any room.

This color strikes a great balance between beige and gray, but like most grays, it does have subtle undertones if you look closely.

CALM OC-22

Calm is another color that is part of the Benjamin Moore Off-White Collection. It is a very soft and warm gray with a somewhat noticeable purple undertone (depending on the lighting in the room)

Purchase a ‘Calm’ Sample.

SILVER SATIN OC-26

Silver Satin is part of the Benjamin Moore Classic Color Collection. It’s considered a soft, slightly warm gray and can appear warmer in a south-facing room and cooler in a north-facing room. Like all grays, it does have a slight undertone … purple. So check it out in your home before making a decision :).

Purchase a ‘Silver Satin’ Sample.

WHY IT’S (VERY) IMPORTANT TO BUY PAINT SAMPLES

Paint colors can look VERY different in different homes … and even in different lighting within the same home.

Also, even more important, paint colors look very different on a device or in a magazine than they do in real life.

There is a lot of editing that goes into photos on Instagram and Pinterest as well as in magazines. For that reason, the paint color may be an inaccurate image of how it looks in real life.

To ensure that you LOVE the paint color in YOUR home, I highly recommend that you order a sample or two of each of your potential colors. You can even order several samples of the same color and stick them to your wall to create a very large ‘sample’.

My go-to retailer to order inexpensive, no-mess paint samples is Samplize. I did my own accuracy test to ensure the samples mimic the real paint color. They do!

I encourage you to do a Pinterest search of your top choices from the list above to narrow down your selections but REMEMBER … paint colors look very different on a device, so MAKE SURE TO ORDER SAMPLES!

I love Calm OC-22 and would like to know what color you recommend to paint the trim. Want to use this in my laundry room! What do you think?

Yep, it’s true. I’ve been there, done that, and actually lived through it … and you will too. Pinkie promise!
