I’m excited to share how my holiday home turned out this year … like, really excited! Although my Christmas decor is simple and neutral, my house feels SO cozy; the greenery and twinkly lights give me all the feels! I hope you find my neutral textured Christmas home tour inspiring as you decorate your own holiday home this year.

UPDATED FALL 2021: The ‘Get the Look’ shopping links throughout this blog post may no longer be available since this blog post was originally written in 2019. However, you can shop my ‘Christmas Decor 2021 Boutique’ (which includes updated shopping links to the decor in my home) at the end of this post :).

NEUTRAL TEXTURED CHRISTMAS DECOR WITH POPS OF GREENERY

Like my everyday home decor, I prefer SIMPLE Christmas decorations. I don’t go ‘all-out’  like most home decor bloggers … partially because it’s a lot of work (especially to put it all away after Christmas).

I gravitate toward neutral textures, greenery (all faux because of my allergies), natural elements (e.g. wood Christmas tree figurines and woven baskets), and a little splash of color thrown into the mix.

I’ll start this tour with a series of holiday decor detail photos, and then I’ll get into the specifics (e.g. holiday stair decor and holiday kitchen decor).

I WISH you could smell this candle through the photo. It smells AMAZING and CHRISTMAS-Y (if that’s a word). I’ve smelled the other colors available (each color from this retailer has a different smell) … nothing compares to the green (Alpine Juniper) in my opinion!

NEUTRAL CHRISTMAS STAIRCASE DECOR

This year I decided to completely change my stair decor. I went from small flocked branches to a beautiful faux garland with white ribbon and sleigh bells.

See my past Christmas stair design in MY NEUTRAL (YET WHIMSICAL) CHRISTMAS DECOR 2018.

SIMPLE KITCHEN CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS

Another change I made this year is the greenery above my stove. In the past, I placed a swag of garland on the hood. This year I opted for this beautiful faux wreath. I cut off the bells to reduce the weight.

Tip: I hang all my wreaths with this Command hook (I use the 5 lb. hook).

I have to add this sweet pic of my baby, Lulu June, looking over her domain (i.e. our backyard) as I took photos all around her :).

MODERN CHRISTMAS TABLE DECORATIONS

I am not a big ‘table centerpiece person’ … I prefer simple table decor (surprise, surprise).

I love this detail shot of the texture elements on my kitchen table. I mixed wooden Christmas trees (these are several years old), a faux wreath just like the wreath above my range, and this neutral table runner (similar linked).

My dining room table is basically a grouping of all my extra Christmas tree figurines and a couple of white ceramic reindeer. I took these extra pieces and put them together to create a very simple and neutral tablescape.

I bought this striped table runner that will look great in my dining room all year long!

CODY FOSTER GLITTER HOUSES

I LOVE this glittery glam Christmas village from Cody Foster! However, I don’t really have a great place to set all the houses up together, so they are placed throughout my house. Each colorful house looks fabulous on its own.

P.S. You can see my love for wallpaper in these three photos … I just realized that each house is placed in front of coordinating wallpaper.

CHRISTMAS TREE HOMEMADE ORNAMENTS

My tree is SO NOT your typical home decor blogger tree (i.e. I don’t just put up pretty coordinating ornaments). My Christmas tree is the same as it’s always been … full of homemade ornaments that my daughters made when they were younger.

I also have homemade ornaments that my mom has made for us over the years (e.g. the needlepoint dresses and balls with my girls’ names on them).

We have SO much fun laughing and smiling at all the adorable ornaments when we pull them out every year. Every single ornament on this tree has a memory attached to it.

Of course, the homemade and photo ornaments have memories, but so do the fancy Christopher Radko ornaments. For example, the heart ornament is a special edition Christopher Radko designed by a child at M.D. Anderson (i.e. the hospital where my brother-in-law was treated for cancer).

I truly hope you found my neutral textured Christmas home tour inspirational as you plan to decorate your own holiday home.

I feel like my home is the perfect mix of neutral yet textured and colorful. Hopefully, some of this decor speaks to you and gives you all the feels!

No matter how you decorate for Christmas (i.e. simple or excessive), just remember to enjoy the process with your family (or on your own … whatever floats your boat)! Don’t worry about your decor looking perfect. It’s fine to have beautifully styled decor, but the Christmas decorations that matter the most are the ones with a memory attached to them!

I designed my own custom home from the ground up, inside and out. A home that is cozy, comfy, laid out perfectly for the way my family lives, and makes us happy every single day. Oh, and did I mention I did this all without blowing the budget?!

Yep, it’s true. I’ve been there, done that, and actually lived through it … and you will too. Pinkie promise!
