Are you frustrated by trying to design your kitchen based on those TINY samples? I get it! It’s HARD!
You know what’s easier than choosing from small samples??? Finding an inspiration photo on Pinterest or Instagram and modeling your design around the inspiration kitchen! I didn’t do this, but it sure would have made my life less stressful!

Caroline, I’m totally in the middle of the frustration that happens when you try to pick flooring based on tiny samples! Ugh. I want to replace my basement floor (carpet) with the wood-look vinyl. I have about 5 samples in my house, but it’s really hard to envision an entire room based off one or two planks. If more people shared sources like you, it would be so helpful as others google the image to see what the flooring looks like in a large space. Thanks, again!
Thank you for your comment! I am SO happy to hear that you find my blog helpful! I completely understand … I like to look for ‘real life’ examples of products in ‘real’ homes as opposed to just retailer websites. Best of luck to you on your flooring project! You will love the vinyl that looks like wood!
Hi, we just picked up that same tile for our backsplash and we’re trying to decide on grout color. What color grout did u go with?
I can’t remember the grout name. I believe it was called Delorean Gray, but I’m not 100% positive. Sorry!
So neat and clean. All your ideas are so lovely and elegant. Thank you for sharing these kind of designs.
Thank you! I am happy you enjoy what I share!
Your home is stunning and I just love your vent hood and the cabinets up high like that. Can you please share details (brand, model, or dimensions) on the vent hood?
Thank you so much, Angela! My vent hood is custom so I don’t have many details to share. Sorry! The width at the bottom (widest part of the vent hood) is 54″. Hope that helps!
Hello, I’m upgrading my kitchen and have already selected kitchen cabinets and have picked out same quartz as you have. My cabinet style is Shaker as well. I am planning to have white subway tile as backsplash, We can’t have wood floors because the dining room floors will be refinished (douglas fir) . The floors meet due to a previous remodel. What tile would complement the countertop, yet not be too busy? My cabinets are similar to yours.
Hi Cheryl! Have you thought about a light grey slate tile? Of course, slate has quite a bit of color variation, but you could pick up a sample of a few slate tiles that are in grey tones (as opposed to tan tones) and see how it looks in your kitchen. Just a thought :)!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful kitchen. I am ready to start my kitchen remodel and am wondering how you like your LG Viatera Quartz?
Thank you,
Lynn
Thank you, Lynn! I LOVE my LG Viatera quartz! It’s held up great over the last six years! Two words of caution though (probably with all quartz) — do not put hot pots on your quartz and do not cut with a sharp knife on your quartz. It’s hardy, but not as hardy as granite. I learned the hot pot situation the hard way. I do have a circle area where the finish basically was burned off the top of my countertop. It’s not nearly as bad as it sounds … no one else ever notices it, but I notice it because I know where to look :(. Best of luck with your kitchen remodel! – Carrie
